Ann Bedingham
Artist Statement
Art is a visual expression of an inner journey, mine and the subject's.
Through technique, skill & style, I am working to capture the soul of my
subjects. This is a lifetime journey of learning to incorporate the use
of light, color, line and value in balance of composition within a space.
Member of the Southern Arizona Watercolor Guild
Biography
Ann grew up in a small town in Northern Michigan where she first exercised
her interest in the arts with six years of professional summer stock
theatre. She spent twenty years in cosmetology and restaurant management
all the while expanding the articulation of her artist's vision. In 1989,
she moved to Tucson, Arizona where she became enamored of the open skies,
errant cloud formations and immovable and immutable qualities of mountains
and desert. The subject matter of her paintings and photography capture the
people, scenes and ancient symbolism that surround her. Ann maintains her studio in the
very small town of Oracle where deer can visit her Buddha garden each morning.
